The Church’s catechetical mission is to help the faithful of all ages to grow in both human and Christian maturity, enriching the whole of life with the Good News of Christ’s love.
At Our Lady of Sorrows, our adult faith formation ministry will offer, over time, a comprehensive exploration of the core elements of Catholic faith and practice---a complete initiation into a Catholic way of life. We hope to invite parishioners to learn in a way accessible to them and relatable to their life experiences, helping them form a Christian conscience and live their lives in the world as faithful disciples of Jesus. We hope the integration of actual life experiences, diverse adult learning needs, the study of Scripture, and the teaching of the Church’s Sacraments and her traditions will create a vibrant learning environment.
Three major goals guide and direct our efforts in adult faith formation:
Invite and engage adults in their ongoing conversion to the person of Jesus.
Promote and support active engagement in the community of faith at Our Lady of Sorrows and in the diocese.
Call and prepare adults as missionary disciples to the world.
